Mr. Robert F. "Bob" Cannon, 80, of Frederick, died on Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Betty Jane Clem Cannon, his wife of 59 years.

Born (March 16, 1925) and raised in Yellow Springs, he was the son of the late Clayton L. and Laura Kintz Cannon. He attended Frederick High School where during his senior year was drafted by the U.S. Army during WWII. Bob worked for several years at Frederick Iron Works and then held a number of positions at Fort Detrick, retiring as a industrial mechanic in 1988 after 30 years service. He was an avid New York Yankee fan, and enjoyed walking at the mall and traveling on bus trips.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Pat Harley and husband Mick; a son, Maris L. Cannon; three grandchildren, Andrew A. Harley, Brandon L. Cannon and Aaron L. Cannon; a sister, Mayetta Stull; a sister-in-law, Doris Cannon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Cannon was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Roy A. Cannon, Calvin Cannon, Carroll Cannon, Herbert Cannon, Elizabeth Cannon, Irvin Cannon and Melvin Cannon.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. on Monday, December 26, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, with Rev. Marilyn Washburn officiating.

Interment will take place in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick with Andy Harley, Brandon Cannon, Aaron Cannon, Stephen Cannon, Mick Harley and Grayson Cannon serving as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith United Church of Christ, 9333 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702.
