Holland A. Gilliland, 92, of Hayesville, died July 14, 2001 at the Wheatland Manor in Wheatland after an extended illness.
He was born June 7, 1909, in Lancaster to Harry and Belle Wiseman Gilliland. He married Grace Wallerich on Nov. 3, 1934, in Hayesville. The couple farmed and lived in the Hayesville area most of their married life. He also worked for the Milwaukee Railroad for many years. The couple moved to Wheatland in June of 2001.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Bonnie Gorsh and Joyce Hahn; two sons, David, and Donald; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Clea Mertz; and two brothers, Hubert and Chauncey.
Funeral services were held at the Reynolds-Powell Funeral Chapel. Burial was in Pennington Cemetery near Sigourney.
