Services for J H Herrington, 79, pioneer Meeker resident, were held at 2 p m Wednesday in Gaskill chapel, Shawnee.
Dr L La Verne Ross, pastor of the First Presbyterian church conducted services and burial was in Meeker cemetery.
Mr Harrington, who had lived in and near Meeker since 1903, died early Monday morning. Born Oct 28, 1880, in Marion, Ind., he came to Lincoln county from Texas in 1903. He owned a grocery store in Meeker for many years before he retired. Mr and Mrs Herrington were married March 9, 1902, in Greenville, Texas.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian church, Meeker, and was a life member of the Odd Fellows lodge.
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs Sophie Herrington, of the home; three daughters, Mrs Carl Hubbell, 920 Jefferson Place, Mrs Hazel Daniels, Oklahoma City, and Mrs Adah Stuart, Meeker; a sister, Mrs Zora McKee, Norman; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Bearers were Frank Clark, Dow MeElvany, John Taylor, John Park, Leonard Berry and H E Rhodes.
