Funeral services for Gina Marie Fontana, 52, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Rev. Sebastian Kallarackal officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Gina was born July 8, 1960 and passed away August 28, 2012. She graduated from St. Frederick High School in 1978 then attended Northeast Louisiana University.

Gina supported numerous charities, notably The Society of St. Theresa the Little Flower, The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish, the parish prayer line, and a past member the OLF Singles Club. She loved talking on the phone with her family and friends, and was known to make regular checks on the sick and elderly in her community. She loved all animals, in particular her beloved cats Sambo and Frisky. Her hobbies included cooking and swapping recipes with friends, taking and sharing pictures of her family, and listening to music.

She is preceded in death by her father, Julius Nicholas Fontana; maternal grandparents, Bernard C. Cusimano and Frances Sauro Cusimano of Birmingham, AL; paternal grandparents, Nick P. Fontana and Virginia Miletello Fontana Cascio of Monroe, LA.

She is survived by her mother, Angeleen Cusimano Fontana; daughter, Christin Grace Berryhill and husband Lance; grandson, Rylan, all of Baskin, LA; brothers, Nick D. Fontana of Monroe, LA, Don B. Fontana of Dallas, TX, and Mark D. Fontana of Monroe, LA; sister, Juliet McRorey and husband Doug of Katy, TX; nieces, Heather Nicole, Megan Elizabeth, and Anna Claire Fontana; uncle, Sam J. Cusimano and his wife Veta of Birmingham, AL; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, among them a dear friend, Janet Hutson.

Pallbearers will be Benny Cusimano, Jerry Cusimano, Greg Cusimano, S.J. Fontana, Jason Fontana, Rocco Guirlando, Tony Guirlando, and Doug McRorey.

Honorary pallbearers are Phillip Leon, Louis Guirlando, Sam J Cusimano, Dr. Thomas Fields, and Dr. Donald Givler.
