SCOTTSBORO - Dexter W. Austin Sr., 58, of Scottsboro died Tuesday at a Huntsville hospital. A graveside service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Pinehaven Memorial Gardens in Hollywood with Greg Legg and Marshall Patton officiating and Scottsboro Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Lockhart Austin; a daughter, Cynthia Rene Smith of Scottsboro; two sons, Dexter Willard Austin Jr. and Marc Randall, both of Scottsboro; his father, Arthur O. Austin of Scottsboro; a brother, Anthony Olan Austin of Birmingham; and four grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today from 4 to 8 p.m.
