She was born Ida Rose Matthies, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Matthies, July 7, 1874. In 1894 she married Mr. Able at Potter. Mrs. Abel was a member of Evangelical and Reformed church at Potter and a charter member of the Ladies’ Aid Society.
Survivors are two sons, Irvin of Brillion and Clarence of Manitowoc; two daughters, Mrs. Hildegarde Kolow of Ingelwood, Colo., and Esther at home; one brother, Otto Matthies of Potter; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Loos of Colby, Mrs. Clara Lex of Appleton and Mrs. Adela Richards of Antigo; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held At Evangelical and Reformed church in Potter with the Rev. Theophil Blaufuss officiating. Burial was in Brillion Community cemetery.
