He was born Jan. 17, 1905 in the town of Rockland, son of the late Robert and Ida Krepline Fischer. He married Mahala Dallmann Feb. 16, 1928 in the town of Rockland. She preceded him in death in 1965. He married June Hostettler Sept 17, 1968 in New Holstein, and she preceded him in 1985.
He worked for the Valders Oil Company for 15 years and farmed in the town of Rockland. He worked for the A.J. Thiel and Thiel Real Estate for many years. He was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Potter, and the Collins State Bank and a member of Brillion Lions Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law; Lorraine Wunrow, Fond du Lac; Grace and Marvin Knier, Valders; three sons and daughters-in-law; Howard and Lorraine, Collins; Roger and Sally, Sioux City, IA; Glenn and Karen, Rural Valders; 19 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, three step great grandchildren; three sisters, Lyla Wunsch and Adeline Behnke, both of Brillion; Veronica Helgeson, Collins; six brothers, Reinhard and Arnold both of rural Manitowoc; Henry, rural Reedsville; David, Clayton Delaware; Elroy, Brillion; Rueben, rural Brillion.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, four brothers, and a son-in-law, Wesley Wunrow. Two grandchildren preceded him in death.
Funeral services were at Peace United Church of Christ, Potter with Rev. Quentin Moeschberger officiating. Burial was in the Brillion Community Cemetery.
