Alice Taylor, who died of scarlet fever in 1843 at the age of two. Her father, Francis, a local doctor, was also a sculptor, and designed her tomb, inscribed with the words, "IS it well with the child? It is well." (II Kings 4:26).

It is said that when she fell ill her father brought her a rose from the garden and she was still clutching it when she died. She had only been ill four days.
