She was a native of Henderson County and the daughter of the late Carl Long and Rosa Elizabeth Stepp Case. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John H. Allison; a sister, Mildred Lindsey; and a brother, Hulin Case. She retired from Hepzibah Children's Group Home with 24 years of service where she was housemother to around 60 girls. Dorothy was a member of Clyde Wesleyan Church and was a foster grandparent at St. John's School until she turned 88.
She is survived by a sister and her husband, three nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens.
