R. Paul Dyess, 64, of Waxahachie, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012, at his home. Graveside service and interment will be 2 p.m., Sunday September 2, 2012, at the Elm Branch Cemetery in Bardwell. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, September 1, 2012, at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home.

Raymond Paul was born in Waxahachie, Texas, to Raymond C. and Norma (Costlow) Dyess. Paul married Susan Oates on May 15, 1981. He loved music and enjoyed the countless times spent with his musician friends playing and singing. Paul was also an avid Texas Longhorn and Texas Ranger fan.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Susan Dyess, in 2007; and his father, Raymond Dyess, in 2004.

Survivors include his son, Brad Dyess, of Waxahachie; granddaughters, Gracie, Taylor, and Morgan; mother, Norma Dyess, of Waxahachie; brother, Alan Dyess; sister, Nelda Curlin and husband, Jack, all of Waxahachie; nieces, Allison Shanahan and Sarah Dyess; nephews, Tres Medlock, Corey Sanchez, and Cody Sanchez; other relatives and many friends.
