---Mary Iona Baldwin, age 79, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Monday afternoon (August 29) at her home.
---Born on January 8, 1915, in Ardmore, Missouri, she was the daughter of William Richard and Rose Etta (Sevier) Wallace. In August 1923 she became the adopted daughter of James Elmer and Francis Susan Sears. On September 17, 1934, in Hannibal, Missouri, she was married to Herman Glenwood Baldwin, who preceded her in death on November 22, 1987.
---Also preceding her in death were her parents; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; four sisters; and two brothers.
---Survivors include are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Toby and Jack Johnson, Glenna and Paul Johnson, and Esta Broderick, all of Kansas City, Missouri; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
---Mrs. Baldwin was a graduate of the Elmer High School and spent most of her life in Macon County, Missouri. In 1981 she moved to Kansas City, Missouri, to be near her daughters. She was a member of the Spring Valley Baptist Church, in Raytown, Missouri.
---Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday (September 1, 1994) at the Travis Funeral Chapel in La Plata, Missouri, with the Reverend Stan East officiating. Music will be provided by Bob Welch, soloist, and Shirley Matticks, organist. Selections will be "When I've Gone The Last Mile Of The Way" and "Face To Face With Jesus".
---Burial will be in the La Plata Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carl Hagar, David Johnson, Chuck Curtis, Mark Day, Carl Slater, Bill Ibrahim, Ross Broderick, and Leroy Wilhite.
---The family suggests that memorials be made to the La Plata Nursing Home. Memorials may be left at or mailed to the Travis Funeral Chapel, La Plata, Missouri.
