Accidents on Washington County highways claimed their second victim of the year Tuesday when Mrs. Janet Marie Stouffer, Hagerstown Route 3, died of injuries suffered when the car in which she was riding crashed into a culvert near Boonsboro Sunday afternoon. Her death follows by eight days that of Harry E. Henson, Hagerstown, who succumed to injuries sustained when his car crashed into a tree near Woodpoint.
Mrs. Stoffer, who never regained consciousness following the accident, died at 6:30 Tuesday morning at Washington County Hospital. Monday she gave birth to still-born twin girls. She, her husband, Herman F. Stouffer, and their year-old son, Stephen, were injured when their car slipped off Alternate Route 40 near the Boonsboro-Lappans Road and crashed into a culvert. The child is reported in fair condition, with head injuries and cuts on the face, tongue and gums. The father, who suffered a fractured nose and face lacerations, was reported in fair condition. Mrs. Stouffer, 19 years old, was a graduate of the Boonsboro High School.
Besides her husband and son, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank B. Babington, Locust Grove; sisters, Mrs. Jack Charles, Hagerstown, and Mrs. Bernard Gaver, Locust Grove; brothers, Leo Babington, Odenton, Md., Harold, with the Air Force at Ft. Myer, Va., and Kenneth, Gary and Richard, Locust Grove. A grandfather, Luther Kephart of Boonsboro, also survives.

The body was removed to the Bast Funeral Home at Boonsboro, where services will be held Friday at 2 p.m., the Rev. J. S. Stamback officiating. Interment will be in the Boonsboro Cemetery.
