Funeral services for J. E. Watkins, 61, rural route no. 2, Sioux City, IA., who died Fri. in his home, will be held at 2 p.m. Mon. afternoon at Christy Morningside Chapel. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery in Moville, IA.
Mr. Watkins was born in Story co., IA., 20 Aug. 1875 & moved with his parents to Rock Branch when he was 2 years old. He later lived at Oto, Anthon & Moville & came to Sioux City a year ago. Mrs. Watkins died 14 years ago. She was the former Rosa Blackford & was married to Mr. Watkins in 1901. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America at Moville.
Surviving are 5 sons, Ralph Watkins of Moville, Gerald Watkins of Sergeant Bluff, Cecil Watkins of Sioux City, Floyd Watkins of Moville, Verle Watkins of Oto; 5 daughters, Mrs. Alma Dickson, Mrs. Etta Baker & Mrs. Hazel Sutton of Sioux City, Mrs. Alta Watkins of Oto & Mrs. Dessie Pearl Reniker of Anthon; a brother, George Watkins of Sioux City; a sister, Mrs. Elva Hardin of Oto & 4 grandchildren.
