SERGEANT BLUFF - Josephine G. Watkins, 78, of Sergeant Bluff died Sunday 21 September 2003, at Embassy Nursing and Care Center in Sergeant Bluff following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Church of the Nazarene in Sioux City, with the Rev. Fred Morrison officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Mrs. Watkins was born 15 June 1925, in Des Moines, the daughter of Guy T. and Grace Ann (Siler) Johnson. During World War II, she was a defense worker in an aircraft factory in California.
She married Floyd W. Watkins on 16 November 1946, in Elk Point, S.D. The couple resided in Sioux City until moving to Sergeant Bluff in 1965. She was employed with Green Acres Care Center in South Sioux City for a brief time.
Mr. Watkins died 4 March 1994, in Sioux City.
She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in South Sioux City, Veterans of Foreign Wars in Elk Point, and Women of the Moose.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by a stepson, Ronald F. Watkins, 6 brothers; a sister and a half sister.
