MARGARET S. BEALL was born in Cumberland, MD April 16, 1900. The daughter of Ella and John Schwarzenbach, she attended the Allegany County Academy and the Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, PA. She was the last surviving member of the Schwarzenbach family.

She was married to former United States Senator J. Glenn Beall on September 12, 1926 after which they resided in Frostburg where she lived until moving to the Kensington Algonquin several year ago. Mrs. Beall died Monday, July 25, 2005 in her residence. Mrs. Beall is survived by three sons, former United States Senator J. Glenn Beall, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Frostburg, Richard O. Beall and wife Beverly Stevenson, MD and former U.S. Attorney George Beall and wife Carolyn, Lutherville, MD; four granddaughters, Victoria B. Muth, Rockville, MD, Charlotte A. Beall, Seattle, WA, Margot B. King, San Francisco, CA and Rebecca B. Di Sabato, South Orange, NJ and two great-grandsons. Long active in civic affairs, Mrs. Beall was the oldest living member of the Cumberland Civic Club.

She was a member of the Garden Club of Frostburg, the Frostburg Homemakers Club, the Maryland Federaion of Republican Women and the Cumberland Country Club. After her husband's election to the U.S. Senate in 1952 she established part time residency in Washington, D.C. and played an important role in supporting his political activities. She was a member of the 78th Congress Club. The Ladies of the United States Senate Red Cross Unit and The Congressional Club. She was an avid bridge player and participated with bridge groups wherever she lived. Mrs. Beall was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Frostburg.

Graveside Services and Interment will be conducted on Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. in Frostburg Memorial Park. Pastor Michael H. Tamorria will officiate. A donor may make memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Beall to the Allegany County League for Crippled Children, P.O. Box 267, Cumberland, MD 21501-0267 or to the charity of choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hafer Funeral Service, P.A., Chapel of the Hills, 1302 National Hwy, La Vale. Condolences may be sent to the family thru www.haferfuneeralservice.com
