Mrs. Opal I. Coy, 98, of Morrisonville, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2003, in Saint Vincent Hospital in Taylorville.
Born to Walter and Alice Pugh Hawkins on July 17, 1904, in Palmer, she was married in Taylorville in 1924 to William D. Coy. He preceded her in death in 1985; along with their son, Jerry Coy, in 2002.
A homemaker, she graduated in 1923 from Morrisonville High School. She was a member of the Morrisonville United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many year, Delta Alpha Class, Methodist Women. Mrs. Coy was also a member of the Morrisonville Historical Society.
She leaves a daughter, Maryalice Coy-Moore of Morrisonville.
Graveside services will be in Morrisonville City Cemetery on Friday at 10 a.m.
