Norma Jean Lucas Hobson, 69, died at 1:48 PM Thursday, June 23, 1998, in Home Hospital. Born in Hume, IL, on Aug. 29, 1928, she had lived in Lafayette for the past 27 years, coming here from Paris, IL. She married Lewis G. Hobson on June 26, 1971, in Paris.

Mrs. Hobson was a secretary at Purdue University for 15 years before retiring in 1990. Before that, she was a legal secretary for Massey, Anderson, Gibson and Pearman, Attorneys-at-Law in Paris, IL. Mrs. Hobson was a member of First Christian Church and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 7, both in Paris, American Association of Retired Persons and Purdue Women's Club Golf League.

Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Sherrie Luttrell (Mrs. Tracy) Brewington of Niles, MI, and Sandra Jean Luttrell (Mrs. Marc) Studebaker of Geneva; and four grandchildren, Erin Melissa and Amanda Jean Brewington, and Marc Benjamin and Jeremie Renee Studebaker. Preceded in death by two brothers, Byron and Herbert Lucas, and three sisters. Service July 26 at Hippensteel Chapel, the Rev. Dr. Lester Ringham officiating; internment Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
