A former resident of the Belle Center area, Mrs. Helen Pauline Borden, 80, 20770 Peoria Loop rd., Marysville, died today at 6 a.m., at the Union Manor nursing home, Marysville.

She was born in Hardin county on Feb. 12, 1897, the daughter of James A. and Mary Adelaide McElree Stephenson. She was married in Bellefontaine on March 18, 1922, to William Ross Borden, and he preceded her in death in 1959.

Mrs. Borden is survived by three sons, William Borden, Summerset, N. J., Ben Borden, Findlay, and Robert Borden, Marysville; two daughters, Miss Betty Borden, Peoria, and Mrs. Lee (Rebecca) Schalip, Marysville; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Stephenson, Myrtle Beach, N. C., and Lester Stephenson, West Frankford, Ill., and two sisters, Mrs. George (Ruth) Curran, Kirkwood, Mo., and Mrs. Guy (Vivian) Kerns, Kenton.

Mrs. Borden was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church, Marysville, and the Sunshine Circle of the church.

The funeral arrangements are being handled by the Postle-Hale funeral home, Marysville.

Mrs. Helen Pauline Borden, 80, 20770 Peoria-Loop Rd., a retired Springfield elementary school teacher, died today at 6 a.m. in Union Manor after several years' illness.

Born Feb. 12, 1897 in Hardin County, the daughter of James A. and Mary Adelaide (McElree) Stephenson, she had lived in the Marysville area for 40 years. She was married in 1922 in Bellefontaine to William Ross Borden who died in 1959.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Sunshine Circle of that church.

Survivors are three sons, William Borden, Somerset, N.J.; Ben Borden, Findlay; Robert Borden, Marysville; two daughters, Miss Betty Borden, Peoria; Mrs. Lee (Rebecca) Schalip, Marysville; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two brothers, Earl Stephenson, Myrtle Beach, N.C.; Lester Stephenson, West Frankfort, Ill.; and two sisters, Mrs. George (Ruth) Curran, Kirkland, Mo.; Mrs. Guy (Vivian) Kerns, Kenton.

The Rev. Donald Bachman will officiate at the funeral services. Burial will be in Raymond Cemetery. Postle-Hale Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Time of services and calling hours are incomplete.
