Obituary:
Funeral services were held in Strong City last Sunday afternoon for Mrs. Martha Jane Archer, on the pioneer residents of that city. Mrs. Archer was the grandmother of T.J. Archer and Mrs. James Smith both residents of Cheyenne.

Mrs. Martha Jane Archer, pioneer resident of Strong City, died Friday afternoon March 20, 1942 at her home following a six-week critical illness.

Mrs. Archer, with her husband, Thomas J. Archer, went to Strong City in 1897 from Grady County and established their home. They had resided there since. She was a member of the Methodist church for 50 years.

Mrs. Archer was born Martha Jane Stewart, December 5, 1865, at Bolivar, Mo., and was married to Thomas J. Archer 60 years ago.

Survivors include her husband, four sons, Quincy M. Archer of Supply, Walter W. Archer of Moorewood, B.W. Archer of Strong City, J.W. Archer of Garden Grove; two daughters, Mrs. A.A. Ragan of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Grace Wayland of Frye, Ariz. Other survivors include two brothers, George Stewart of Meers, Okla., Marion Stewart of Bailey, Okla.; three sisters, Mrs. Nancy Lacey of Hammon, Mrs. Maggie Morrison of Bray, Okla., and Mrs. Jonne Archer of Bailey.
