Pete Alford Keen was born in Rockdale, Milam County, Texas, one of five children. He was a Rockdale High School graduate. Pete served in the U.S. Air Force 1942 to 1945 during World War II and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sargent. On November 26, 1942, he and Edna Myrl Parton were married in Thorndale. Three children were born to this union. Pete was a farmer all of his life and member of Forest Grove Christian Church. Pete passed away at the age of 98 on a Sunday at his home in Rockdale, with Jimmy and Thana keeping him company and comfortable during his bed rest. Services for Pete were scheduled for Wednesday, September 5, 2012 in the Forest Grove Christian Church at Forest Grove with burial in the Keen Family Cemetery near Forest Grove.
