Professional Football Player. Drafted from Purdue University by the Los Angeles Rams in 1959, he came to Dallas in 1960 to play on the first Cowboys football team under Coach Tom Landry. He returned the opening kickoff for the team in its first regular season games, making him the first Cowboy to touch the ball in an official contest. He retired in 1963 when an injury cut short his career.
