Born Feb. 17, 1933, son of the late Joseph Allen and Lucibelle Workman Markham, he was a graduate of Hendrix College and an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Markham was a technical representative for Fisher Scientific Co. for many years and was in real estate in California. He was a member of the Citizens on Patrol volunteer group under the auspices of the San Bernardino and Riverside County sheriff's departments, and was awarded the Distinguished Commander and Outstanding Service awards.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Chester Markham.
Survivors are his wife, Patricia Hicks Markham; a daughter, Luci Adams of Greenville, S.C.; three sons, Joseph Markham III of Jonesboro, Ga., Curtis Markham of Maryville, Tenn., and Richard Markham of Alpharetta, Ga.; and six grandchildren.
Family memorial services will be held later at Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway
