Janis Elaine Anderson Dunsworth was born in 1948 to Mr. & Mrs. Leonard Anderson, and attended Boone Elementary School in Kansas City, Missouri. The family lived on W. 89th St. right across from the school. She has one younger sister, Marilyn. Her mother died very young from cancer, while Janis was still in grade school. She was a member of the Brownies & Girl Scouts. In high school she was a member of the Future Homemakers Club. She graduated in 1966 from Center Senior High School in south Kansas City. She studied nursing and worked as a nurse's assistant at Osawatomie, Kansas, where she met her future husband. She was married to Harley L. Dunsworth, and had two children, one boy, Harley L. Jr. (H.L.) & one girl, Jacqueline (Jackie), before her sudden death from a cerebral aneurysm. The family lived for several years in Grandview, Missouri. While there, Janis did excellent home health care for George A. Blansett, Jr.'s mother, Barbara. Janis was a fun-loving girl with a beautiful & friendly personality, thick, dark brown hair & a brilliant smile. She was always an extremely modest & caring person who especially enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family. She is greatly missed by all who knew her.
