After an illness of several months' duration, Dr. Warren E. Anderson, one of the most prominent physicians in the state and a leading citizen of this city, passed away yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock. His death, while not unexpected, is nevertheless keenly felt by many friends.
During the illness of Dr. Anderson everything possible was done to relieve him, he being twice operated upon by specialists, once at Mobile and once in New York, but he grew steadily worse and for several weeks prior to his death, no hope for his recovery was entertained.
The funeral arrangements have not as yet been completed, but will be announced later.
Dr. Anderson was fifty-five years of age, and is survived by a wife, eleven children, one brother, one sister and a large number of other relatives. He had been a resident of this city twenty-eight years and during that time he was prominent in the professional, social and political life of the city.
At the time of his death, Dr. Anderson was chairman of the city democratic executive committee and the representative of the state board of health for this city. Although he was influential in the political affairs of the city and county, he was little inclined to aspire for public office.
