Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 5 at Summers-Kistler Funeral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 6 at the funeral home with Pastor Troy Reynolds officiating. Burial will be in Dundas Cemetery with full military rites performed by Olney veterans organizations.
Everett was born March 18, 1939, in Jasper County, the son of Thomas Arthur and Mildred Ethel (Cummins) Thompson.
He married Shirley Ann Lashbrook on July 11, 1976. She preceded him in death on September 6, 1990.
He was a CNA at Olney Care Center. He was a member of Silver Street Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed fishing and attending church. He always encouraged others with cards and letters. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Everett is survived by sons, Everett L. Thompson Jr. of Noble, Travis Thompson, of Olney; daughters, Lisa Marie Robinson, of Olney, Debbie Jones and her husband, Gary, of Olney; stepsons, Louis Kilgore and Brian Kilgore; stepdaughters, Beverly Cantrell and Sherry Deisher; sisters, Ruth Kimmel and Dee Donnan, both of Shelbyville; sister-in-law, Nancy Thompson, of Olney; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Thompson; parents, Thomas and Mildred Thompson; brothers, Charles Thompson and Thomas W. Thompson; and brother-in-law, Eddie Donnan.
