Born in El Campo, Texas Dec. 27, 1921 died Sept. 1, 2012. She married James Balthrope during the war years and came to San Dimas. She was a member of the San Dimas Community Church, a past president and member of S.D. Wednesday Afternoon Club, The Festival of Arts, The Pomona Model A Club and The San Dimas Historical Society. She is survived by her second husband Joe Vaniman, her daughter Christina Blain, her granddaughter Shawna Hartmann and Great Granddaughter Tina Miller of Vista. She will be interred at The Military Cemetery with her first husband in Riverside, CA. A memorial service will be held in the San Dimas Community Church on Saturday the 15th of September at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the church or to Pilgrim Place in Claremont, CA.
