Columbus, GA - Jack Lesch, 82, of Columbus, GA, died Monday, September 3, 2012 at Vista Care Center at Franciscan Woods.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 6, 2012 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA, 31907. Interment will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Lesch was born March 9, 1930 in Indianapolis, IN, son of the late Stanley and Hannah Taylor Lesch. He retired from the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer with over 25 years of service. He loved to study history, being outdoors, and camping. Mr. Lesch was a member of GaChi and a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his daughter, Shirlee Lesch; his son, Johnny Lesch (Laura); two grandchildren, Kristina Lesch (Shane), and Mark Scarlett (Jessica); eight great grandchildren; three half-brothers, Jerry Lesch, Richard LaGrua, and David LaGrua.
