Wilbur R. "Bill" Fike Sr., 86, of Collinsville, formerly of Maryville, died at 12:28 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, 2006, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

He was born Feb. 26, 1920, in Coulterville. Mr. Fike was employed by Wise Communications in East St. Louis for over 30 years; repaired much of the fire and police department radio equipment in the Metro East; and was a U.S. Air Force World War II veteran.

Survivors include one son, Wilbur "Bill" Fike Jr. of Collinsville; one daughter, Dorothy Johnson of Lombard; three sisters, Dorothy Wise of Belleville, Betty Clutts of Coulterville and Colleen Young of Maryville; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Wallace) Fike; his parents, Fred and Althea (Krunutt) Fike; and three brothers, George Fike, Thomas Fike and Favre Fike.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Maryville with the Rev. Sigurd Bjorkland officiating.
