Was living in Amherst. WI when he enlisted as a Private in the Union Army on October 12, 1861. Assigned to Company E, 18th Wisconsin Infantry on December 10, 1861. Musted out of Federal Service on March 14, 1865.

Survived by wife, Anna L. Beebe; son and daughter-in-law, O. W. and Nettie Beebe; grandson, Adelbert.
