Marilyn (Cichowitz) Merlino, 75, of West Hartford, beloved wife for 48 years of Frank A. Merlino passed away peacefully, Sunday (July 10, 2011) at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Edward J. and Rose (Wenzel) Cichowitz and has been a life-long resident of West Hartford. Marilyn was a graduate of William H. Hall High School, West Hartford, Class of 1954. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting and then became a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to her retirement, Marilyn was Director of Finance at EASTCONN. She had been very active working in the deaf community for many years and was a communicant of the Church of Saint Timothy, West Hartford and she had been very involved in many of the activities and events of the Church. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sister and brother-in-law, Constance and George Beaudry.
Calling hours will be Monday, (July 18, 2011) from 5 to 8 p.m. at Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. The funeral procession will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at the Church of Saint Timothy, 1116 North Main St., West Hartford. Interment will be at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marilyn may be made to the American School for the Deaf, 139 North Main St., West Hartford, CT 06107.

The funeral procession will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. at the Church of Saint Timothy, 1116 North Main St., West Hartford. Interment will be at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marilyn may be made to the American School for the Deaf, 139 North Main St., West Hartford, CT 06107.
