Mrs. George W. Graves
The death of Mrs. Lavina Fenton Graves, widow of the late George W. Graves occurred at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George W. Cooper, No. 78 Fair street, after an illness of ten days following a paralytic shock.
Mrs. Graves was born in Morris, May 18, 1855, the eldest of four children of Nathaniel Fenton and Elvira (Burgess) Fenton, the father having his life for his country in the Civil War.
Following her marriage to Mr. Graves, Oct. 30, 1880, she resided for 18 years at Fly Creek, after which she moved to Cooperstown. ..... Mr. Graves death occurred March 31, 1912.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Almond W. Newkirk of Richfield Springs and Mrs. George W. Cooper of Cooperstown, and one son Albert Graves of Thendarra, N.Y. , one sister, Mrs. Charles Butts of Hartwick and one brother, Albert Fenton of Phoenix Mills, also seven grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Saturday.... burial will be in Fly Creek cemetery.
