Kentucky- Thelma B Ellis Cranfill, 97, formerly of Lexington, Galveston, and Dallas , Texas, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2000.
She was the widow of Frank Cranfill. Thelma was retired after 20 years as a 6th grade school teacher in Galveston.
She was born in Lexington, Kentucky, the daughter of the late William B and Ruby Harris Ellis. She received her BS degree in 1953, from the University of Kentucky was a member of Porter Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors are a daughter, Ruth Cranfill Staton Davis of Houston, Texas; a son Frank E Cranfill and wife, Mary of Lexington; sister, Ruby Ellis Dunn, Lexington; brother William B Ellis Jr, Mobile, Alabama; 4 grandchildren John E Staton, Meriworth Staton Anderson, both of Houston, Texas; Frank M Cranfill, Albuquerque, New Mexico; John E Cranfill, Lexington; 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 10am Saturday at WR Milward Mortuary Southland, conducted by Rev James K Pierce with burial in Lexington Cemetery.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-9pm. Friday at WR Milward Mortuary, Southland.
