Berenice Mulkey
Berenice Mulkey, 84, a resident of the Atchison County Nursing Home the past three years, died Friday night at the Atchison Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Sawin-Dyer Chapel with the Rev. Paul Wuiff, pastor, Carol Baptist Church, officiting. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the funeral home until the time of services. Contributions may be made to Carol Baptist Church.
She was born Dec 4, 1899 in Maryville, MO., daughter of David and Angeline Arnett Snodgrass. She attended Emporia State for two years.
Mrs. Mulkey taught school southwest of Effingham during World War I. She was an active member of Carol Baptist Church and its Bible study and women's missionary groups.
Survivors include a stepson, William Mulkey, St. Petersburg, Fla.; four step-grandchildren one niece and two nephews, including Vincent Snodgrass, Atchison, and Mrs. Melvin Kneib, Tucson, Ariz.
