Regina's mom, Josephine Szepelska came from Poland and was a seamstress. Her husband's name was Caesar Rzesniowieck -He followed her over from Poland and, married here in the NYC according to Regina, She showed me a family phto once of her mom with Regina, and her 2 brothers standing next to a monument that was his grave. She could not remember the location, though she said it was in New York. He died very young, and she did not remember him at all.
Caesar and Josephine had 3 children- They were Boleslaw who changed his name to Ben(memorial #72369228) and Joseph (memorial #72377699) and Regina.
Josephine supported her children as a seamstress. Regina married Albert Szabo(buried in Hillandale Memorial Park, Lithonia, Ga. #53343734) and had 2 sons- Richard and Stephen.
Regina was a devout Catholic and my dear friend. In 2000, we met when i lived in the apartment over hers in Conyers, Ga. I took her to church, dinner, shopping- whatever she wanted. She was a great lady and really funny! No one understood why we were friends- since there was such an age difference.I thought that was pretty silly. The answer was easy- we really enjoyed each others company!
When she showed signs of dementia, her son came from Colorado, and moved her to an assisted living facility in Conyers, Ga. It was not a good fit. I stopped by every day to check on her.In 2002 I moved out of state and soon heard that she needed to have 24 hour care, and her son moved her to Longmont, Colorado. I came back to Conyers,Ga. to say goodbye. That is me( in tears) hugging her. We knew it would be the last time we saw each other on earth. After she moved to the Longmont facility, we spoke on the phone many times- The last time i spoke to her, she asked me not to call anymore because of the dementia. She said she did not want me to cry.I cried for 2 weeks! I asked her how would i find out if she had died, and she said," Look on that Ancestry place you fool with and you will find me."
And so i have.
