She was raised in East Texas and later moved to Commerce. After Clynie married Arvil Patridge in Sulphur Springs on February 22, 1934 she moved to Dallas in the 1950's. She worked as a seamstress in a jean factory for thirty years before she retired in 1974. Clynie moved to Kaufman in 1978 where she was a member of the Kaufman First Baptist Church. Clynie loved gardening, canning, cards and dominos.
Her husband Arvil preceded her in death in 2001 and a daughter Joy Northam preceded her in death in 2012.
Clynie is survived by her daughter: Barbara Johnson of Kaufman, grandchildren: Jill Warren, Jeff Johnson, Kathy Mathis and Mark Lyon, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter brother: Billy Wayne Byers and many other relatives and friends.
