Mrs. Edith S. Watson, wife of Ed Watson of Lewis, died Sunday, December 23, at the Cortez home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Chamblee. The lady was 42 years of age.
Mrs. Watson was born May 14, 1909 at McGregor, Texas, and came to Colorado with her family in 1923. She became a member of the First Baptist church at the age of 15 and remained an active member until the time of her death.
She was married December 2, 1930, to Edward U. Watson, at Durango, and to this union five children were born.
She is survived by her husband; four children, Cecil, Billy Duane, Hazel Leona and Thomas Edward; her parents; four brothers, John Chamblee or Cortez, Henry Chamblee of Gilchrist, Oregon, Alex Chamblee of Lubbock, Texas, and Francis of Kalamazoo, Michigan; and two sisters, Roselin Hakson of Dolores and Elma Van Winkle of Carlsbad. One child, Edith Marie, died in infancy.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the Ertel Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Beroggins officiating. Burial was in the Lewis cemetery.
