He was a retired deputy sheriff of Plaquemines Parish, La., and was a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by stepdaughters, Shirley Draughn of Jackson and Diane Z Smith of Brookhaven; stepbrother, Vernon Lassus of New Orleans; three grandchildren and a niece.
