Services Held For Delma Fluitt

Delma Fluitt, 58, owner of the Union Livestock Commission Co. in San Antonio, died in a San Antonio hospital Tuesday.
A native of Gonzales county, he had spent his entire life in the cattle business.
He came to San Antonio in 1939 and became associate with the Union Livestock Commission Co. Working up in the firm, he took over sole ownership in 1960 and had operated it since.
Until he became ill a year ago he also operated a ranch in the Wrightsboro area of Gonzales county and raised crossbred cattle.
In addition to his livestock business he was active in the Baptist Church and was a member of the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, Hermann Sons Lodge of Gonzales and Elks Lodge of Seguin.
He also was a life time member of the San Antonio Livestock Exposition.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Roy Akers Chapel in San Antonio.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Zella Mae Fluitt, son David L. Fluitt, both of San Antonio ; mother, Mrs. Media Bean, Gonzales; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Smith, San Antonio, and Mrs. Juanita Smith, Highlands; three brothers, Olan Fluitt and Hollis Bean of Gonzales and Lawrence Fluitt of San Antonio; and four grandchildren.
