Samuel Cmapbell, one of the best known residents of this town, died this morning at Red Lion, York County. Word was received here this forenoon announcing his death which came as a shock to his relatives and friends. Mr. Campbell left here on February 15, to attend the funeral of his brother, John Campbell. who died at Red Lion, and was buried on Feb. 18. He was suffering from a cold when he left here and when he returned from his brother's funeral he was taken ill. Pneumonia developed and resulted in his death at Red Lion. He was born and raised in York county and was a painter by trade. He was 72 years of age and had lived in this town for the past 26 years and was a man of sterling character and was highly respected. He was a communicant of the First Presbyterian Church, and was also a member of Fire Co. No. 1. He is survived by one daughter, Miss Cora Campbell, a brother, David Campbell, of York Pa., and who is also ill; two sisters also survives him, they are Mrs. Amanda Mann of York, Pa, and Mrs. Annie Meyers, of Bryonsville, York county. He was a brother of the late J. W. Campbell, of this town. The remains will arrive here this evening at 7:30 and will be taken to his late home on Gaylord avenue. The funeral announcement will be made later.
