Obituary for Mrs. Katherine Eshelman it states:
" At the home of her son, George Eshelman on Wednesday evening, Mrs. Katherine Eshelman quietly passed out of this life at the ripe old age of 80 years. She had been failing for some time, but in the end her death was sudden.

"Mrs. Eshelman was born in Fairfield, Penn., in the year of 1830. On October 3, 1848 she was married to Hiram Eshelman and in 1883 they came to Sheffield which place has been their home since that time."

" 10 children were born to them 8 of whom survive her: Mary of Penn., John of Yorktown, Sarah in Dakota, Chas. in Wis., Angie of Tiskilwa, and Marie and George of Sheffield. She also leaves to mourn her loss, 42 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters."

"She was truly a loving wife and devoted mother. Home was her voluntary sphere of activity, service, and sacrifice."

Other notes;
Catherine A. Eshelman was the owner of a property in the Town of Sheffield, Illinois purchased on April 4, 1894 from the Sheffield Mining Company. This property was Lot number 5 in the South West Quarter of Section 19 in the village of Sheffield. It was purchased for the sum of $135. (Bureau County Warranty Deed #110850, Book 110, page 465.) This helps date their arrival in Illinois which was mentioned as 1883 in her obituary. On a visit in 2011 it is evident that the house where she lived no longer exists.

On March 15, 1904 (which was after the death of Hiram) Catherine sold the property for $1.00 to her son George A. Eshelman (Bureau county Warranty Deed #134827, Book 135, page 413). This helps us understand what was mentioned in her obituary that she lived with her son George at her time of death.
