Lydia E. Duncan, 87, of Columbus route one died about 4:15 o'clock yesterday afternoon in the city hospital.
Mrs. Duncan was the daughter of May A. and Mary Wisdom. She moved, at the age of 12, with her parents to Berry County, Mo., where she grew to womanhood.
She married Edwin H. Duncan at Eureka Springs, Ark., in 1895. They moved to Cherokee County in 1901 settling nine miles south of Columbus. Mr. Duncan preceded her in death.
Mrs. Duncan had been a member of the Calvary Baptist Church for the past 58 years.
Surviving are three sons, Arthur Duncan, Columbus route one, John Duncan of Ft. Scott, and Walter Duncan of Crestline; three daughters, Mrs. Ralph Fast of Columbus route four, Mrs. Homer Baird of Holden, MO., and Mrs. Lee Correll of Oswego; 22 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The body will lie in state at the home of Arthur Duncan of Columbus route one from 12 o'clock tomorrow until 11 a.m. Thursday and then will be taken to the church.
