LITTLE ROCK — Joan Scholem Abowitz, 85, of Little Rock died Sunday.
She was born May 10, 1922, at Little Rock, a daughter of the late Mildred Scholem and Percy Scholem.
She lived at McGehee for more than 80 years and lived the last three years at Little Rock.
She was a longtime volunteer with the McGehee Hospital Auxiliary and Meir Chayim Temple Sisterhood.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Schneider and Sally Joyce; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Abowitz; and one son, Steve Abowitz.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in McGehee Cemetery. Arrangements are by Griffin Funeral Service at McGehee.
Visitation will be at the Meir Chayim Temple following the service.
