MRS. ALEDA HILL DIES
Mrs. Aleda Hill, widow of J.M. Hill, died in St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City about ten o'clock Wednesday morning. The body was brought here and prepared for burial at the Houghton Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at the Federated Church Friday morning at ten o'clock.
Mrs. Hill had been in failing health for two months or more and was taken to the hospital four weeks ago. Mr. Hill died July 10 last year.
Mrs. Hill was the daughter of Mrs. Zelma Filson and the late Thomas A. Filson of Hamilton. She is survived by her mother, two daughters Mrs. M. O. Ridings and Virginia Hill and one son Jack Filson Hill; a step son Berry Hill
and a step daughter Mrs. Burton Hawks. Four brothers also survive, Edwin Filson of Champaign, Ill., Don Filson of Marshalltown, Iowa, Floyd V. Filson of Chicago and Wallace Filson of Danville, Ill.

FUNERAL OF MRS. ALEDA HILL
The funeral service for Mrs. Aleda Hill, who passed away in St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City on Wednesday morning of last week, was held at the Federated Church Friday morning and was conducted by Rev. C.W. Smith, pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Gallatin. The service was short, there being an organ number by Mrs. Crosby C. Johnson, the Scripture reading was a part of the 14th Chapter of St. John's Gospel, Mr. Smith spoke a few words of comfort to the family, and closed with a prayer. The pall bearers were H.C. Kenney, Henry Cornelius of Kidder, J.W. Vaughn, Crosby C. Johnson, C.J. Gurley and C.A. Greene.
Mr. Smith read the following obituary of the deceased:
Rosa Aleda Filson was born May 28, 1885, on the old James L. Filson farm in the New York Settlement southeast of Hamilton in Caldwell County (being the same farm on which her father was born).
She was the only daughter of Thomas Anderson and Sarah Zelma (Adams)Filson.
After living in Gaylord and Concordia, Kansas, from 1886 to 1892 she returned with her parents to Hamilton where she has lived ever since.
She attended the Hamilton public schools and was graduated with the Class of 1904, and later attended Park College.
In June, 1913, she married James M. Hill who died July 10, 1934. The following children were born to them - Loraine (wife of Marion O. Ridings), Virginia and Jack Filson.
Mrs. Hill is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Zelma Filson, and four brothers, Edwin, Don, Floyd and Wallace; and also by a granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Ridings, born April 9, 1935, and Mrs. Hill especially enjoyed the
presence of her first grandchild during the last few weeks of her life.
Aleda, as she was commonly called, was always active in this community especially in her church, Sunday School and missionary society.
She united with the Presbyterian Church of Hamilton when about ten years of age, in the frame church building, and continued her memberhship in the Federated Church.
She was also a member of the P.E.O. and D.A.R. and took an active part in both.
Mrs. Hill was an active part of Hamilton for over 40 years and friendliness and faithfulness were characteristics of her public and home life.
