Inas Marie Scott was born on Aug. 10, 1923 on Shaw Hill in Galena, Kan. A lifelong resident of Galena, she married Robert L. Scott on July 4, 1942 in Joplin, Mo.
Inas and Robert owned and operated Scott's Hardware in Galena from 1954 to 1962. They resided at 1110 Dewey Ave., where Inas was a homemaker. She was a member of Sixth Street Baptist Church.
While vacationing in Orlando, Fla. with relatives Wayne and Aline Moore, Inas suffered a heart attack on Friday, April 24. During her recovery, she suffered a second heart attack and passed away at 5:26 a.m. Thursday, April 30 at Lucerne Humana Hospital in Orlando, Fla.
Survivors include her husband, Robert, three children and their spouses, David R. Scott of Galena, Rt. 1; Johnny L. Scott of Galena; and Sheryl S. Tierney of Lancaster, Calif.; a sister, Mary A Schehrer of Miami, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Richard Jenkins officiated at the funeral on Monday, May 4 at 10 a.m. at Sixth Street Baptist Church. Burial was performed at Hillcrest Cemetery in Galena. Pallbearers were David Murphy, Shaine (sic) Scott, Bobby Kelley, John Schehrer, Mark Glades and Jerry Gabrielson.
