CODY RITES SET FOR MOTEL MAN

Funeral services will be conducted Monday or Tuesday in the Methodist Church of Cody, Wyo., for Arthur Joens, 71, operator of Canyon Road Motel west of Cody who died of a heart ailment Friday afternoon shortly after admittance to a Billings hospital emergency room.

The Rev, Herschel Martin, church pastor, will officiate at the Cody service.

Mr. and Mrs. Joens were visiting their daughter, Mrs. H.L. Wigham of 1041 N. 25th St., when he became ill. The body is at Settergren's Funeral Home.

Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. W.H. Sharp of Kimball, Neb., Mrs. Wigham and Mrs. Burrell James of Shiprock, N.M., a son, Thomas Joens of Panama City, Fla.; a brother, Thomas Joens of Davenport, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Elma Anders of Okauchee, Wis.; three half-brothers, Charles and Walter Dengler of Chicago; two half-sisters, Mrs. Herman Arp and Mrs. Elmer Offerman of Davenport; his step-father, Ernest Dengler of Davenport, and nine grandchildren.

Mr. Joens was born Jan 11, 1886, in Davenport. He farmed in southern Oklahoma with a brother for several years and was married Aug. 1, 1912, in Lawton, Okla.

Mr. and Mrs. Joens lived in the Lawton and Duncan areas 34 years before moving to Cody in 1946.

The Cody Odd Fellows Lodge will conduct the burial service in Cody Cemetery.
