He was a son of Hampton Bynum Brown and Nora Frances Teague.
His father died when he was about a year old and several years later his mother remarried William Early Seal.
Ronald married Grace Thompson Washburn in 1916 in Spray, N.C.
He was the father of Billy Moore Brown, born 1921; Ronald Earl Brown, Jr., born 1923; Thomas Burwell Brown, born 1925 and Madeleine Frances Brown, born 1927.
===
Robert went to work at Spray Cotton Mill at the age of nine.
His wife taught him to read and write while they were courting.
He went to school at night, after working 12 hours days, to learn how to be a loom fixer rather than a weaver, so he could better support his family.
===
He died on a Sunday night at a nursing home in Siler City, N.C.
He had to have skilled care and that nursing home was the closest to home that his children could find for him.
Ronald was a fine Christian man who was very generous, very gentle, and very kind.
