James R. Phillips, 53, of Ft. Worth, TX., passed away Sept. 20, 1995 at his home. He was born Sep. 17, 1942 to Roy A. and Helen Logsdon Phillips at Burlington, IA.

He attended Stronghurst High School and entered the Air Force at 17 years of age, retiring after 20 years of service with 3 tours in Vietnam. He then went to General Services Administration for the U.S. Government installing security systems in government buildings. He retired Oct, 1 1994.

He married Faye Bass in 1987 (second marriage) at Ft. Worth, TX. He is survived by his wife of Ft. Worth, TX., his mother of Oquawka, Illinois, one son, Doug of Euless, TX., two daughters, Christy (Randy) Daniel of Ft. Worth and Jamie (Tommy) White of Watauga, TX., four stepsons, eleven grandchildren, two brothers, Bill of Media and Jerry of Gulfport, IL.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother. He was a member of the VFW Post 2544 and Palo Duro Masonic Lodge 1239 in Amarillo, TX.

Services were Friday, September 23rd at Mount Olivet Funeral Home in Ft. Worth. Masonic graveside services at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Ft. Worth.
