From the Oakley (KS) Graphic, dated Thursday, March 16, 1893: Died--March 14, Grandma Hamlin, mother of Albert and H.W.Hamlin, of near Page. We did not learn the particulars, but understand she had the pneumonia fever.
The Logan County, KS probate records have her death as 13 Mar 1893.
Hellen M. Taylor m. 1) Seth C. Hamlin 2 Jan 1849 in Portage Co, OH. She was his 2nd wife.
She m. 2) Wm. J. Turner in 1873 in Nodaway Co, MO.
They were apparently divorced, as she went back to using the name Hamlin.
Seth C. Hamlin was born 23 Jun 1815 at Glenville, NY. He died 19 Jan 1870 at Quitman, Nodaway Co, MO.
Seth and Hellen were the parents of Hiram D, James Edgar, Seth Albert, Lilly A. Nicholas, Harry Wilbur, Mary Emma Hunt, Adaline W. Scott McElvaney, and Frank D. Hamlin.
