Headline: Charles A. Offutt Succumbs at 63
Arrangements for the funeral of Charles A. Offutt, 63, of 3744 Morrow street, were incomplete last night. Services will be conducted Sunday by the Rev. Ralph Kerley, pastor of the Lake Shore Baptist church under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral home.
Mr. Offutt died at 1 p.m. Friday in a local hospital after a long illness. A native of Clarksdale, Miss., he had lived in Shreveport for the past 37years. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his widow Mrs. Lillie Offutt; a son, Bill Offutt, Shreveport; four daughters, Mrs. L. T. Tidwell, Mrs. Melvin Tyler, Mrs. Ruby McBroom, all of Shreveport, and Mrs. Gilbert Noble, Dallas, Texas; a brother, R. E. Offutt, Bossier City, eight grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
