Wilmer L. Loose, age 88, of Chilton, died on Sat. June 2, 2012 at the Chilton Care Center. He was born on May 1, 1924 in the Town of Woodville, son of the late Gustave & Emma (Brandes) Loose. He married Lucinda I. Reinke on April 19, 1944 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hilbert. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked on farms in the Calumet County area and later became a licensed cheese maker working mostly for Harry Laack Cheese Factory. In 1962 he started at the Foley Co. in Chilton until 1973 when he began an 11 year career as a custodian for the Chilton High School. He then drove bus for the New Hope Center in Chilton and did custom yard work in Chilton for many years. Wilmer loved to play Sheepshead, and spending many hours putzing and puttering in his garage. He was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council, and a member of American Legion Post #125 of Chilton. Survivors include his wife Lucinda of Chilton; 6 children, Bev (James) Tienor of Reedsville, Barb (Norb) Kratz of Brillion, Bonnie O'Connell of Reedsville, Grace (James W.) Ott of Valders, Gordon (Jane) Loose of Chilton, Glenn Loose of Chilton; 18 grandchildren, John, Jeff, Jason, Scott, Cindy. Susan, Laurie, Kathryn. Mike, Jodi, Jennifer, Jessica, James A., Jeana, Penny, Nicole, Haley, McKenzie; 35 great Grandchildren;3 sisters-in-law, Lois Loose of Sheboygan, Delores Price of Manitowoc, Alice Sebo of Reedsville; a brother-in-law, John (Clarabelle) Ruh of Brillion; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gustave & Emma Loose; a son-in-law, Keith O'Connell: a great granddaughter, Ashley Rose Rieder; a sister, Esther Lefeber; 4 brothers, Raymond, Norbert, Roman, & Rueben Loose. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tue June 5, 2012 at St. Martin Lutheran Church (717 Memorial Dr.) in Chilton, with the Rev. Wayne Huebner officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, with military rites conducted by American Legion Post #125 of Chilton. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4 PM to 8 PM on Monday, June 4, 2012 and again at the church on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 9:30 AM until the time of services. A memorial fund has been established for St. Martin Lutheran Church.
